Time Well Spent

All of us SU! demonstrators received this Hostess level 3 set from the new Spring/Summer catty. I finally got a chance to play with it. I used SU!'s Perfect Plum, Pale Plum and Mellow Moss Watercolor wonder Crayons to watercolot the image and then the same colors of cardstock to layer and make the rest of the card. The centre of the flower is a Lilac Ice Circle Rhinestone. Love all these colors together!

My new FAVORITE set!

Lovely as a Tree, is soon becoming my new favorite set! I don't know why I've waited this long to get it! This is another card that is CASEd from ones on Splitcoast stampers and then tweaked a bit. I masked stamped the trees in the oval and then brayered the sky in the oval, sponged a bit of bashfull blue in the lower part of the oval to help it stand out. The large tree was then stamped with Olive stazon. I let it sit to set for a few minutes and then added the 'snow' using perfect puff and sprinkled it with glitter. The dots were made using platinum liquid pearls and the trees in the background were dotted with stickled to make them sparkle! After it dried overnight I layered in onto the front of the card and Voila!

Merry Christmas!

Santa arrived today and brought me Photoshop Elements 5! So, guess what I've been playing with today? It took a while, but I figured out how to make a watermark for the pics I post online. I spent a good while yesterday (Christmas Eve) stamping just for FUN! I got lovely as a tree with my order last week and just had to play with it. I cased a card from the splitcoaststampers website. It's been done so many times that I really have no idea who to give credit to. I simply stamped the trees on white cardstock with black stazon, then I stamped it again on a post-it to make a mask to protect the 'snow' from the brayer. It was brayered with the blue frost spectrum pad. Not sure if these next steps have been done to it though, I added falling snow by using one of the stamps from SU!'s 'Snowflake Spot' stamp set using white craft ink. After I stamped peaceful wishes (from the 'Peaceful Wishes' set) in black stazon I let the craft ink dry and then stamped over the surfact with a glue pad and covered the piece with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. It is matted in black and put on a brilliant blue card. So simple, but I LOVE how it turned out. Tommorow I'm gonna work on finishing a card I started with an upcoming Level 3 Hostess set. It's called "Time well Spent" See you tommorow!

My 8yo made this.....

Well, my oldest doesn't want to be outdone by her younger sister. She really wanted me to share one of her creations. She made this for her friend's birthday this weekend. She stamped it with Sable Brown Stazon and then chalked it with Qtips. Now she can rest in the knowledge that she too has been blogged! Thanks for letting me share!

Is this cool or what?

Take a look what came driving up our street on tuesday night! This truck is from our local cement company and they decorate it like this for the Santa claus parade. Well they must be making their rounds about town cuz they came down our street blaring "santa clause is coming to town". The kids were so excited to see the truck up close (we hadn't gone to see the parade....long story) and mom and dad were pretty excited too!

Christmas Fudge!

I made these super cute containers with christmas fudge for my girl's brownie and sparks leaders and I just LOVE how they turned out!

I used my mega scallop punch to make little wrappers for the fudge and punched out tissue and foil.
The tissue is too thin to punch out one layer at a time, so I punched out 8 layers (less work anyway!) and punched out the foil in between to keep the blades sharp.

The containers are made by BoBunny and were pre-printed and pre-scored and just needed to be punched out and assembled. Then tags were made from SU!'s Tags on Board set. I stamped the merry christmas with gold ink on red cardstock and then punched out with a SU! punch.

The Happy holidays tag was first stamped on clear acetate with white stazon and then stamped on Certainly Celery cardstock with black stazon.

The Happy Holidays is stamped with real red classic ink. I added stickles (of course!) and then let dry. Cut out the tags, layer and punch hole. I didn't layer them perfectly so you could see the 'shadow'. The little gems on them is some MP3 player bling that came with DD's high school musical 2 DVD. We don't have an MP3 player (much to her dismay!) So mama got the bling to play with! I added the recipe for this super simple fudge and then tied a bow around and added the tags and a little extra silver tie.

I love how they turned out and my girls are so excited about giving them to their leaders. Here's the recipe for this super simple and really yummy and creamy 5 minute fudge (okay, maybe it took 7 minutes or so, but it was still SUPER quick)

Fudge

2/3 cup Carnation Evaporated Milk
1 2/3 cups White Sugar
½ tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla
1 ½ cups Mini marshmallows
1 ½ cups Chocolate Chips

Mix milk, sugar and salt in saucepan. Heat to boiling.
Cook 5 minutes stirring constantly.

Remove from hear and add remaining ingredients.
Stir until marshmallows dissolve. Pour into buttered
8” x 8” pan. Let cool, divide into squares and enjoy!

Super simple christmas cards

This year I joined the christmas card challenge over at Splitcoast and did it ever work great. Each month you create a certain number of cards per month. It's up to you how many, you decide how many and tell the coordinator how many you will make a month, and then post them in the gallery each month. The greatest part is that by christmas you'lll have them done and there's not the mad rush to crank out all these cards and you don't get bored. These are the cards I made to the last few months. They are super simple one Layer cards that are stamped with black stazon and then colored in the Stampin' Up! markers and a blender pen. I accented them with stickles cuz ya know I LOVE stickles:)

SBS 5!

Well, I had planned on spending some time browsing all of mym SBS5 sister's blogs, but for some reason Internet explorer won't let me see any of them right now, so it's time for me to stop delaying the inevitable and introduce myself to my new sisters! I am a mom of 3 girls and hubby and I have been married for 11+ years now. I have always loved crafting, sewing, painting and pretty much anything that keeps the creative juices flowing! All of my girls have inherited that love. I love stamping and scrapbooking and they love to join me. I started stamping when I was in my teens but soon got bored when I thought all you could do was emboss. I started scrapbooking when my oldest was born 8 yrs ago and haven't looked back since! I just love it! I was re-introduced to stamping when someone told me about splitcoast stampers 2 1/2 years ago and have fallen in love with it all over again as I discovered there's much more to stamping than just embossing! I started teaching stamping, scrapbooking and paper crafting classes at my LSS in september and really enjoy it now that I've gotten over all the butterflies! I look forward to checking out all your blogs and getting to know each of you!

My 6 yo made this!

My middle daughter Kirsten saw all the fun that mommy was having with the Bella ball the other day and had to get in on it. Here's the card she made using pompomabella. With the bella theme, can you tell we have a house with all girls? (except DH!) I really do own more than just Bella stamps! I've been playing with a bunch of giftcards using Elzybells that I'll post soon. I just love those little girls. Anyway, enough about my stash, Kirsten Loves Stickles as much as I do and chose to use several on pompomabella including a few streaking her hair that mommy later CASEd for a card she did.....Hey you can CASE from a 6yo right?!

Snowbunnybella

Okay...that was too funny! I forgot to add the most important part, the picture! Here she is! The fur on her jacket is stickled and then flocked which gives it some sparkle under the flocking. It turned out so cute! The chocolate chip piece on the bottom was embossed with the cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder. I then rubbed a glue pad overtop and sprinkled with glitter. The snowflakes are sequins from Walmart and so is the ribbon. The gems were glued on with diamond glaze and just because it wasn't quite sparkley enough, I dotted stickles on the tempting turquoise piece. Hope you like her!

Yet another Bella....

I can't figure out how to delete my picture in the centre of the blog, so I'm just going to post another bella card and soon that post will be burried! This is one of my new fave's. She's called snowbunnybella and she's all blinged out for another of the Bella Bash challenges on splitcoaststampers

Here is me. I need to upload this pic in order to put it into my profile.....so here it is!

Another Bella card!

Bear with me, I'm trying to get the hang of posting! Yes, I realize it will be a while before anyone finds this anyway! Here's another bella card for stamping bellas anniversary ball.

This is pompomabella, isn't she too cute? The flower is made from a punch. (I thinks it is from impress rubber stamp store) I punched it out twice with SU! whisper white cardstock and then chalked them and inked them to bring out the purple. In the centre of the flower is a princess brad. The colors are SU!'s Bliush Blossom and Lavender Lace. Pompomabella was colored using a blender pen and chalks. I used stickles to add dimenshion and sparkle! I LOVE stickles. They are one of my favorites! They are a great way to add glitter to things without the mess.

I'm joining the blogging world!

I've decided to join the blogging world! It's very strange though cuz if you had asked me about it a few weeks ago, I would have said "No Way! Not happening! I just don't have the time! I figured I'd start now so I have christmas holidays with the kids home from school to play with it and get it figured out. I can't believe it only took a few minutes to set up! Now I just have to figure out how to add pictures! To the left is a trifold card made for Stamping Bella's first anniversary ball. What fun! I just love these bellas and so do my girls!
