Four Dolls class

As this post goes live I'm teaching my second four dolls class today. Hows that for double tasking!
The first card is simple using paper piecing and masking to create a group of girls. The lanter in stamped onto a seperate piece and attached with pop dots. Stickles adds a finishing touch.
Our second project is a Folded Kimono with a bookmark inside.
Some General instructions:
1 – Score at the 2” mark on both of the short sides
2 – Score 1 ¼” from the top to the bottom edge at the 1 ¼”, 2 ¾” 4 ½” and 6” marks
3 – Cut from the top of the 1 ¼” score line across to the top of the 2 ¾” score line and from the 4 ½” score line across to the top of the 6” score line. These cut marks will be 1 ¼” from the edge on one of the 7 ¼” sides.
4 – Fold card creating the arms of the kimono. The other scored pieces fold to the inside of the kimono. Fold the top edges over to create the kimono.
5 – Wrap the obi (yellow printed piece) around attaching at the back. Decorate with primas and glue dots.
6 – stamp the doll on the top of the cream piece and cut around the top leaving the doll attached to the bookmark.
7 – stamp the doll onto the printed paper and cut out the kimono and paper piece it to the bookmark.

You can find a picture tutorial here.

The last card we're making is a coat card.
This is what it looks like closed:

And this is what it looks like open:

Some general instructions...
1 – to create the outer coat, score the red cardstock at 2” on both short sides. Score the 11 ¼ x 2 printed piece at 2 7/8” on both short sides. Attach together. Attach eyelets using the A1 setting on the crop-a-dile.
2 – to create the inner card. Score the purple piece at 5” to create a 5x 5 card base. Round all corners and attach layers.
3 – Dolls kimono is paper pieced and the fan is stamped on purple print, cut out and attached with a foam dot. Flower is also stamped on purple, cut out and attached.
4 – decorate with stickles.

Here's my original inspiration for the coat card.

Have a great day!

Viewmaster card

This card was part of a class teaching cards that move. I love the cute little owls in this little Hero arts set!
Viewmaster card
Cut list:
1 – 8 ½ x 4 ¼ - Wild Berry Bazzill
1 – 4 ¼ x 4 – Bo Bunny – Honeysuckle
1 – 4 x 4 – white cardstock
1 – 4 x 4 – photocopy paper

Other Supplies:
Large Circle Nestabilities – largest circle
1 3/8” circle punch
Hero Arts sparkle clear You Hoo Owl stamps
Crop-o-dil or 1/8” hole punch
Black Stazon
1 brad
Cuttlebug

Tombows:
126 – Olive
969 – brown
992 – tan
025 – yellow
899 – chestnut brown
N79 – grey brown
553 – blue

General instructions:
1 – Using a pencil, X the back of the Honeysuckle print piece and trim down to 4” x 4”.
2 – Cut 2 circles out of the 2 white pieces using the nestabilities and the cuttlebug.
3 – Set the cardstock circle aside and fold the copy paper circle into quarters and then into eighths. Use the hole punch or crop-o-dile to punch notches at each of the fold lines. Add one notch between each of the fold lines ( I just eyeballed it!) Use this as a template for the cardstock circle and punch notches into it. Pierce a hole into the center.
4 – Stapm the owls onto the cardstock circle and color with tombows. Set aside.
5 – Using the X on the back of the printed piece as a guideline, punch a large dip on the side that was trimmed (you can tell which side was trimmed because the pencil lines won’t go to the corner, they will go to the side). Turn a quarter turn to the right and punch out the hole for the owls to peek through.
6 – Fold the wild berry piece in half to create the card base. Lay the printed piece on top and punch out the dip into the front of the card and pierce the center hole through for the brad.
7 –Using a brad, layer the printed piece with the owl stamped piece. Turn over and attach adhesive to the corners. Push brad through the hole in the card front, straighten the layers and adhere firmly. Push open the brad back.
8 – Stamp “You Hoo” onto the front of the card and “Friends Forever” on the inside.

Trying to get back into the swing of things.....

I'm really missing my craft room! We are in a rental for the next couple of months and I don't have a space of my own and I don't like it! Don't I sound spoiled! Here's the card holder (to go with the card stack class) that I promised to post a long time ago!

Cut list:
1 – 8 ½ x 7 ¼ - 2 scoops – strawberry smoothie
2 – 1 x 8 ¾ - Flamingo Bazzil
1 – 5 ¼ x 5/8 – Flamingo Bazzill
1 – 3 ½ x 3 – Flamingo Bazzill – for scallop rectangle
1 – 3 x 2 ½ - white

Other supplies:
4 – lg mint green brads
2nd largest rectangle nestabilities from small set to cut and emboss white piece
2nd largest scallop rectangle nestabilities from large set to cut flamingo bazzill
Corner rounder
Whispers ink – grand cranberry and sugarloaf green

Instructions:
1 – Cut and emboss white piece and cut out flamingo bazzill piece
2 - Stamp 3 flowers on white piece
3 – Score Strawberry smoothie paper as follows:
Score 1” along both long sides
Turn ¼ turn
Score at 3 ¾” and 4 ¾”
4 – Cut on the 3 ¾” and 4 ¾” score line up to the 1” score line on both sides (so you should end up with 4 - 1” cuts. Put adhesive on side pieces (1” areas) and stick together to make a box to slip the cards into. Set aside.
5 – Take the guard off of the corner rounder. Use it to create scallops on one side of the 2 5 ¼ x 5/8 pieces and both sides of the 2 – 8 ¾ x 1 pieces. Attach the pieces that are punched on 1 side to the top of the box as a decorative scallop edge. Use the brads to attach the 2 handles. To make it easier to attach the brads, place the handle where you want it to be and use a crop-o-dile to punch a small hole to thread the brad through. Open the back of the brads.
6 – Attach your stamped piece to the front and it’s ready to slip the cards inside and give as a gift!

More card stack cards

Here are the last 2 cards from the card stack. The first one is a tent card. The scallop at the top of the tent is made by sliding the paper through the scallop oval nestabilities and cutting only one side. I then used the crop-o-dile to puch a hole in each scallop. The window card was inspired by this card on Nicholes blog. It has a window cut out with nestabilities and velum behind it. The velum was stamped before it was attached to the card. Enjoy! I'm off to pack some more boxes....Isn't moving fun! Tommorow I'll show you a cute gift bag to carry the card stack cards....perfect for a gift!

Be Happy from the card stack

The pink background on this one was stamped with versamark and embossed to add a subtle texture. The circle and scallop circle were cut out with nestabilities. A little bling in the centre of the flowers makes this card sparkle!

Another from the card stack class

This is another card from my card stack class. It is super simple. I used the corner rounder to round the corners including the corners of the card. The scallop circle was cut with nestabilities and the holes in the scallops are made with the crop-o-dile. Stamp the image, stick the layers together and voila! A super simple card!

Card stack class

I did a card stack class last week. Here's one of the cards we made. I'll share some more tommorow (can't spend too much time here...I need to be packing boxes;) )We used 2 Hero Arts clear stamp sets called: CL151 – Share Laughter,CL150 – Heartfelt Messages and Basic Grey's Two Scoops paper. I just love that paper and all the colors in it! This super simple card has 3 panels with the flower stamped on each and some bling in the centre of each. The oval and scallop oval with the sentiment was cut out with nestabilities.
